May 3 -4 AFTC clinic and exam.
Farrier Trainers of Canada will be hosting a pre exam clinic May 3rd and an exam May 4th 2024 at the Olds College Farrier Barn, Olds AB.

This clinic will cover all the elements of the AFTC exams and is open to Apprentices and Farriers preparing for all levels of the AFTC exams.

Auditors are welcome to learn more about the AFTC exams.

The Clinic will cover:

Preparing your portfolio

Horse assessment, both static and Dynamic,

Creating a trimming/shoeing plan.

Oral exam, what to expect

Forging, modifying keg shoes, pulling clips, handmade shoes, Bar shoes.

Trimming and shoeing.

Other elements of the exams – pads, stud holes.

Preparing for the Theory exam

There will be limited spots to participate, no limit for auditors.

Auditing is free if you are a WCFA member. $25.00 per day for non members.

Cost will be $250.00 for WCFA members $350.00 for non members

Price includes lunch and 1 attempt at the theory exam

Participants will get at least 1 practice shoeing exam.
